SKETCHBOOK ARCHEOLOGY

Spend some time looking through your sketchbook. Look at the cover and try to remember making it way back in September. Turn each page slowly and as you look at them try to remember what you were thinking about when you made those marks. Pay close attention to things that show up more than once…materials, characters, shapes, patterns. In a blog post describe briefly how you’ve felt about your sketchbook this year and what role it’s played in your artistic development. Then…make a list of the things, materials, themes that show up more than once. Labels: reflection

Looking at my sketchbook i noticed that my work varied. It has varied with the different types of art i have done in it and the materials i have used. I think that the my work is scattered and i can tell i put a lot of time and effort into the beginning and strong at the end as well. I wouldn't say that the work is bad in the middle but i think i just dont like it as much as i could. I like how the materials and different types of art change all the time. There are a lot of mixtures of the different strategies in one spread which i like. I've noticed that i am interested in drawing a lot of designs and patterns with color and 3D material. There wasn't too much repetition of the materials i used but there was a lot of colorful collages and glitter in my notebook. There's a lot of shapes and objects i am interested in in my sketchbook as well.
